Gym Facilities

Unlimited gym use

By selecting the gym option in your membership you can access RSL gyms across Reading.

Each gym combines a comprehensive range of equipment which include a balanced mix of both cardiovascular (CV) and resistance stations.

Our experienced staff are available to help you make the most of your workouts. We also offer effective personalised training programmes to all our members to help you keep on track and achieve and retain your fitness goals.

Swimming Facilities

UNLIMITED Swimming

By selecting the swimming option in your membership you can access RSL swimming pools across Reading.

You will have access to all swimming pools at RSL centres, during General Swimming sessions. As our centres are located across Reading you can simply drop into a centre nearest you, or maybe call in before or after work and fit swimming around your weekly commitments.

Please note: Swimming option does not include courses, coached or themed sessions.

Exercise Classes

UNLIMITED Exercise Classes

By selecting the exercise class option in your membership you can access RSL exercise classes across Reading.
 

With over 80 classes on offer every week, there really is something for everyone!

As a member you can enjoy unlimited access to all our exercise classes. If you are new to fitness it's best to try out a number of classes to find the type of class that suits your needs. Equally, we advise you to occasionally try out a new class. This way you don't get stuck in a rut with your weekly workouts and you stay motivated. Why not come along with a friend you can motivate each other!

Racket Sports

Unlimited Racket Sports

By selecting the racket sports option in your membership you can access racket sports across Reading, at RSL centres and Reading Parks.
 

If you are looking to get fit and enjoy time with family and friends then a racket sport is an ideal activity.

We offer members the use of badminton and squash courts at Meadway Sports Centre, along with *tennis courts at both Prospect Park and Christchurch Meadows.

Racket sports are great fun for all ages and abilities.

Members can book courts up to 6 days in advance.

*Tennis Court availability:
Prospect Park (April - September, pre-booking advised Tel 0118 937 5080):
Mon - Fri 8.00am - 10.00pm, Sat & Sun 8.00am - 4.00pm
Prospect Park (Year round):
Sat & Sun 8.00am - 4.00pm

Cycling and Athletics

UNLIMITED Cycling and Athletics

For those who have been inspired by our Olympic athletes, our outdoor 460m cycling velodrome and track and field facilities at Palmer Park Sports Stadium are some of the very best in the region.

With the surge of interest in both track cycling and athletics what better time to try out these sporting disciplines to get into shape.

The athletics track and cycling velodrome are free to use at selected times for Platinum Members. Please check with reception for availability.

How to join the RSL Active Membership

Joining the RSL Active Membership

Decide on your membership option. If you are unsure which option best suits your needs please speak to a member of staff who will be happy to offer guidance.

Join Online or call in at your local RSL Centre

Once you have decided on your preferred package simply click on our Join Now button or call into your nearest RSL Centre:

AcademySport Leisure Centre
Central Swimming Pool
Meadway Sports Centre
Palmer Park Sports Stadium

If you wish to use the gym facilities you will need to book a gym induction at any RSL gym. You will be asked on your first visit for a £5.00 deposit to book your induction place, which will be deducted from your initial fees.

Joining in Person

If you choose to join our membership in person you will be asked to complete a membership form which will include your bank details.

Pay for your chosen membership option.

You will then be issued with your Active Membership Fob, which will be accepted at all RSL centres.

Once you are a member

Your Active Membership Fob must be shown at reception every time you take part in a membership activity.

Achieve your Fitness Goals

Personal Training Plans

If you are new to gym workouts our Fitness Staff will devise a personal training plan which is specifically designed around your current fitness level, and your fitness goal.

You will undertake an initial fitness test to identify your current levels of fitness (both cardiovascular and muscular endurance levels).

Our Fitness Staff will then devise your personal training plan, which can be reviewed after a period of 1 - 2 months. Your plan will layout clearly what you will need to do during each workout (stations to use and repetitions), so you know you are making the most of each visit to our gyms.
